So many people don’t realise there’s still great skiing to be had here in Val d’Isère in the Easter holidays!
Yes, we have seen years not that long ago where our neighbours in Meribel and Courchevel had more or less no snow at all by the end of March, but here in Val d’Isère we are way, way higher, we have our own little micro-climate and if that fails us we have snowmaking pretty much everywhere that matters now.
So you can book you Easter holiday here in Val d’Isère fully confident in the knowledge that not only will you be “still able to ski”, you will be able to ski the whole area with full snow cover – more than likely in glorious sunshine too.
For 2014/15 the busy weeks of the Easter holidays will be the weeks of 28th March and 4th April but there’s no need to worry about the resort being mobbed – hardly anyone realises how good the skiing is in April, the French holidays are much later (some of them don’t go back until 11th May) and they tend to go down to the sun anyway.
And as well as meaning the slopes are a lot quieter than you’d think in Easter holidays, it also means the prices are pretty good as well – often only two thirds of what you’d pay at half term, or even less.
